Learn About This Location

Bloomington is located along the north bank of the Minnesota River, above the confluence with the Mississippi River, 10 miles south of Minneapolis. It was established as a post-World War II housing suburb connected to Minneapolis, I-35W and I-494. Bloomington includes top-tier households in the Bush Lake area and traditional rows of middle-class single-family houses. Besides an extensive city park offering over 1,000 square feet of parks per capita, Bloomington is also home to Hyland Lake Park Reserve and a National Wildlife Refuge. Bloomington has more jobs per capita than both Minneapolis and Saint Paul, due to the Mall of America.
