Evansville is the economic and cultural hub of Southwestern Indiana and third-largest city in the state. As of 2010 the city had a total population of 117,429.
Seated on a bend in the Ohio River, the city is often called the "Crescent Valley" or "River City". Four NYSE companies (ACW, BERY, LEAF, VVC) are headquartered in Evansville, as well as the global center for the NYSE company Mead Johnson. Three other companies traded on the NASDAQ (ESCA, ONB, SCVL) are also located in Evansville. The city has public and private enterprise in many other areas, as it's the economic hub in the region.
