About this property
The design by renowned London-based Make Architects is inspired by the letterpress printing history in the district. This significant neighbourhood of Wan Chai has constructed Hong Kong’s idiosyncratic culture with its letterpress printing industry, among other unique local businesses.
The property transforms the skyline of this trendy neighbourhood for locals and expats. The lustrous metallic tower’s doubled-glazed curtain walls give a futuristic touch in its nostalgic spirit. Endorsing the bygone industry, the architecture features a striking printing block motif. The balconies on exterior are made of champagne gold aluminium cladding, resembling traditional metal printing blocks in letterpress printing. The essence of the district’s legendary industry is also embodied in letterpress-inspired sculptures inside the building.
While retaining the traditional, Lun Fat Residences embraces the unconventional yet never compromises functionality.
It stands out predominantly from its concrete surroundings. Apartment balconies, in their square shape and gradual perforation, are staggered across all sides of the façade. The design offers changing views, while creating intriguing patterns of light and shadow when it is viewed from different angles. The windows at two ends of corridor invite abundant natural light and better ventilation. Want to escape from the hurly-burly? Grab a coffee, or chill with friends and family in the club lounge or work out at the outdoor gym in the clubhouse on the 3rd floor.
