Mount Juliet is a city in western Wilson County, Tennessee, approximately 17 miles east of Nashville, and had a population of 28,656 as of 2015.
According to the city's Chamber of Commerce, the name of the town has two possible origins- either it was named for Julia Gleaves, a person known for taking care of those in need, or it was named after a manor house in County Kilkenny, Ireland.
Mt. Juliet has claimed to be the "fastest-growing city in Tennessee," which holds true from 1980–2000 for cities in the state with a population above 10,000.
