Rochester is a city in Olmsted County, Minnesota and had a population of 111,402 as of 2014, making it Minnesota's third-largest city.

In 1883, the Great Tornado destroyed much of Rochester. With no medical facility at the time $60,000 were collected in donation, which were used to open St. Marys Hospital in 1889. The Mayo practice grew and is one of the most well-respected medical facilities in the world today. Many famous people including Presidents George H. W. Bush, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan, were patients of the Mayo Clinic.
