The Community of Scottsdale

You'll find four main areas in Scottsdale. South Scottsdale is home to most working-class families, while Old Town is the historical center and home to most of the popular dining and nightlife hotspots. Central Scottsdale, known as the "Shea Corridor," has some of the more well-to-do homes that were built during Scottsdale's first big boom period in the post-WWII years. What to Do in Scottsdale

At the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, you can wander hiking trails to see the true beauty of the desert. Guided walks are frequently scheduled if you'd prefer not to go out on your own.
 
Despite the warm summer weather, there's a lot to do outside all year round in Scottsdale. Sports fans can visit the Penske Racing Museum and its several cars on display, get in a round of golf on one of the area's 200 layouts or attend a ball game at the Salt River Fields where both the Diamondbacks and the Rockies schedule spring training.
