Pleasanton is a wealthy city in Alameda County, California, which was incorporated in 1894. It is a suburb within the Bay Area 25 miles east of Oakland, 5 miles west of Livermore. It had a population of 71,254 as of 2010. Pleasanton houses the headquarters of Safeway and Blackhawk Network. Although Oakland is the Alameda County seat, several county offices and a courthouse are located in the city. The Alameda County Fairgrounds are located in Pleasanton which hosts the county fair during tlate June and early July.
