Pleasanton is a wealthy city in Alameda County, California,  which was incorporated in 1894. It is a suburb within the Bay Area 25 miles east of Oakland, 5 miles west of Livermore. It had a population of 71,254 as of 2010. Pleasanton houses the headquarters of Safeway and Blackhawk Network. Although Oakland is the Alameda County seat, several county offices and a courthouse are located in the city. The Alameda County Fairgrounds are located in Pleasanton which hosts the county fair during tlate June and early July. 

Pleasanton is ranked as #4 by USA Today in "America's 50 best cities to live in" in 2014, number 63 by Money's list of "The Best Places to Live" in 2010, and also listed as one of "Americans' Top Hometown Spots" in the US by Forbes.
