Walpole is a town in Norfolk County, Massachusetts. Walpole Town, as the actual town is called, is located about 13 miles south of Boston and 23.5 miles north of Providence, Rhode Island. It was first settled in 1659 and was considered to be a part of Dedham until officially incorporated. Its name honors Sir Robert Walpole, the de facto first Prime Minister of Great Britain.
