Why Corporate Housing?

Have you considered all of the costs and labor necessary to set up a corporate suite? Do you want to find your own corporate suite? Below is a list of things you will need to take care of, in order to search, locate, line-up, and manage your own corporate suite. You will need to...

The Apartment

  • Locate an apartment community in a convenient geographic location that fits the resident profile you’re looking for. And, ensure the community will consider a short-term or month-to-month agreement. This can be tough, about 90% of apartment communities aren’t interested in short-term leases.
  • Complete an application, pay the non-refundable application fee, and run a credit check on both yourself and your company for each apartment community.
  • Put down a deposit for your apartment, and, pay your monthly rent at the first of every month (unless otherwise noted by the community).
  • Get renters insurance. This is super important and highly recommended.
  • Handle all maintenance problems, should they occur.
  • Pick up apartment keys, garage door openers, and mail keys.
  • Upon move-out, thoroughly clean your apartment to ensure you get your deposit back.

Furniture Rental Company & Washer/Dryer Rental Company

  • Locate, find, and contact a furniture rental company and/or washer/dryer rental company. Each will ask you to fill out a credit application. Barring the credit application is approved, you will then be asked to select the styles and patterns of the furniture you need, as well as housewares and linens. In the case of the washer/dryer company, you will be asked to select which washer and dryer best fits your specific needs. You will need to pay a set-up fee/deposit. Note: most furniture rental companies do not lease furniture for less than three months.
  • Schedule a date and time for deliveries; this may require time away from your job.
  • Make your monthly rent payment to the rental companies.
  • Should an issue arise with the rental items, you will be responsible for calling the company to discuss the issue and line up an appointment, if necessary. Again, an appointment could take time away from your job.
  • Give a 30 day notice to discontinue your rental service when you are ready to move. Schedule a date and time for pick-up. All rentals will be reviewed to determine any damages and/or additional cleaning needs. Finalize all bills/payments.

Electric Company, Telephone Company, & Cable Company

  • Fill out a credit application and pay a set-up fee and deposit.
  • Pay bill each month.
  • Schedule any appointments necessary, should there be an issue.
  • Schedule disconnect upon move-out, as well as finalize all bills/payments.

The Maid Service

  • Research and determine the best maid company for your needs.
  • Meet the service for the initial cleaning and set-up of housewares.
  • Make a payment to the maid service following each visit.

Additional Things to Think About

  • What will you get locked out of your apartment? Even worse, what if it happens late at night? Or super early in the morning?
  • You will only be able to move into your apartment during normal office hours.
  • Most apartments will not bill your company or accept credit cards.
